You’ve completed the three degrees of Craft Masonry, but there’s more to discover! When you received the Book of Constitutions, you might have noticed a section about the ‘Order of Royal Arch Masons of England.’ This raises questions: What is this ‘Order’? Why isn’t it mentioned in the Craft degrees? The Royal Arch is considered to complete the Third Degree and provide something missing from Craft Masonry.

Now, why should you consider joining the Royal Arch?

Historically, it’s a separate Order with its own responsibilities. While in the past it was said to reveal lost secrets, today we seek a more meaningful answer. Lawrence Dermott called the Royal Arch the ‘root, heart, and marrow of Freemasonry.’ So, does it still hold relevance? Despite our modern knowledge, higher standards of conduct, like ‘brotherly love, relief, and truth,’ remain important. The Royal Arch expands on the Craft’s teachings, exploring the deeper meaning of Truth and strengthening the connection to spiritual beliefs. By emphasizing the bonds of support and cooperation within the Chapter, it completes our ‘system of morality.’ Joining the Royal Arch offers a richer understanding of the Craft, a deeper exploration of Truth, and stronger bonds with fellow brothers. It’s a pathway to personal growth, enlightenment, and an enhanced Masonic journey.
